Tangy Lime Grilled Top Round Steak
Serves 4
1 Certified Angus Beef top round steak, cut 3/4 inch thick (about 1 lb.)-$4.49
1/4 cup fresh lime juice-$.80
2 tbsp. brown sugar-on hand
2 tbsp. vegetable oil-on hand
1 tbsp. Meijer Worcestershire sauce-$.09
3 large garlic cloves, crushed-$.15
1. Combine lime juice, sugar, oil, Worcestershire and garlic in small bowl. Place beef steak and lime mixture in food safe plastic bag; turn steak to coat. Close bag securely and marinate in refrigerator 6 hours or overnight; turning occasionally.
2. Remove steak from marinade; discard marinade. Place steak on grid over medium, ash-covered coals. Grill, covered, 10 to 11 minutes for medium rare 145 degrees doneness, turning occasionally. (Do not overcook).
3. Carve steak into thin slices. Season with salt and pepper, as desired.

Stuffed French Toast
Serves 8
1 lb. loaf Markets of Meijer multigrain bread, cut into 1-inch thick slices-$1.99
1 (8oz.) pkg. Meijer 1/3 less fat cream cheese, softened-$2.29
1/3 cup Smucker's peach preserves-$.57

1. Create a pocket in each bread slice by cutting a slit from top crust almost to bottom crust (but not all the way through). Set aside.
2. For filling, in a small bowl stir together cream cheese and preserves until smooth. Spoon about 1 tbsp. of the filling into each bread pocket.
3. Whisk together eggs, milk, vanilla, cinnamon and nutmeg in a shallow dish until combined. Dip stuffed bread slices into egg mixture.
4. Heat 1 tbsp. of the butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add half of the bread slices; cook 3 to 4 minutes or until golden, turning once. Repeat with remaining butter and bread slices. Serve warm with syrup or powdered sugar.
