When it comes to making changes in your life, start small and gradually make healthier choices.  These ideas will help you to increase your fiber, decrease your sugar and increase your nutrient-rich fruit and vegetable intake.

Instead of:

Try:

Spaghetti with Meat Sauce

 Spaghetti with Barilla Plus Pasta and Barilla Garden Vegetable Sauce (this will help you to increase your fiber intake, vegetable intake and omega-3 intake)

 Regular Sugar in your coffee

 Equal in your coffee (this will help to reduce your calorie and carbohydrate intake)

 Potato Chips

 Popcorn (try Smart Balance Popcorn Light Butter Flavor), fresh or dried fruits or vegetables (this will help to increase your fiber intake while reducing calories and fat)

 Regular Soda

 Diet Soda, Ocean Spray Light Ruby Red Grapefruit Juice, Water, or Old Orchard Healthy Balance Apple Cranberry Juice (these options will help to decrease calorie and sugar intake)

We are always adding new recipes with different diets in mind. We do offer a fair amount of low sodium recipes with our "Diet" section under the "Recipe" tab within the Mealbox to the right of this screen.
